1. I'm checking my LJ userinfo and scroll down. The Friend-of list has gone from 17 people to 15. I know, right away, before even reading through the list, which two have dropped me, and feel immensely sad.

2. Two princesses, wearing jeans, are in love with each other, but must now part and marry other people. It takes me a moment to realize how immensely sad it is - but it is. The little pink fairy is desolate. The voice-over says: "Dear fairy, your work in this world is done; now, I give you the sparkly kingdom [which I immediately know means the entire internet fandom]." The words are carved on a golden plate on the wall, and it also says on the plate that they were written by pirateyes.

3. Night, summer, I'm at a party at a beach house and don't know anybody but the other wall-flowery girl sitting next to me on the ratty couch. We spill drinks and comment on people, everybody wearing yellow and orange and brown. Standing in the line, picking out pasties from the long serving table and waiting for his turn to pay to the cashier is Justin Timberlake. He shimmies a little. We all go outside and down the hill towards the sea. The other girl I know goes down all the way, all alone, and I'm very proud of Justin when he goes down after her, pulls her back by the hand; when they pass by me on their way back up, he smiles at me like he wants to say something, but she won't stop and pulls at his hand and so he doesn't say anything, just goes. Music and warm light and people pour out of the house into the night. I remain half-way down the hill and find a black notebook and try to scribble down everything that's just happened, under the header "IDEA FOR JUSTIN'S NEXT VIDEO" (because I'm sure it'll be just like that, and brilliant) but I keep misspelling VIDEO over and over and over and never get it done.
