And why must people keep writing stories that make me want to go drown in fandoms I tell myself I'm only harmlessly dabbling with? Stories like this that make me think that, why, yes, if something as wicked and good as this can come out of this fandom, then they surely must be onto something? I don't want to go looking for New Things. I want to have the sense to just stick to the fandoms I know, and the writers I know, for now, because I don't have time, and I don't have energy. And I want to be able to say that it's okay for me to like the movie and still not read the book, and perfectly acceptable to enjoy a fic without needing to memorize the canon and the fanon. - But it's hard to obsess partially.
