reading friendsfriends, and stuff, and was reminded of what i periodically understand: that i'm going to a hell made for ONE for never, never once having thought that jo should have married laurie instead, or laurie jo. i don't know why. it just never occurred to me at all.

or maybe because AMY/LAURIE=THEONETRUELOVE.

of course, then i grew up, and became a brandon/kelly shipper instead.

Jo and Laurie together would have been a NIGHTMARE, and I'm not just saying that because I identified with Jo and am MADLY IN LOVE with Dr. Bhaer. It's just wrong; Laurie and the Princess were MADE for each other. They can do artsy things and eat pickled lemons and wear clothespins on their pretty little noses ALL DAY LONG.

You know, the first I read of the rampant Jo/Laurie shipping in the world was in an introductory essay in the fourth edition of Little Women I'd bought. And the essayist was all, every little girl wanted Jo with Laurie not that dour Dr. Bhaer and I was offended, right there, on the bus, reading it. Heh.
