Hm. From the trip!notes:

At the airport, we were waiting for the check-in desk to open, and I fished out the apple from my backpack. This is it, apple, I said, I’ve carried you with me for days now, I crossed borders with you, and now I’m going home, and I’m going to toss you before I do. Otherwise I’d have to name you. The apple looked at me, and said, I bet I look like a Howard to you. Yes, I said, because all inanimate objects eventually look like Howards to me. Nice to meet you. Howard smiled at me. I went over to the trashbin and dropped him in. The check-in desk was open.

I’m supposed to be finishing the essay now, right about now. Right now. Hence, further recycled from the friends list, a survey –

1. Your name spelled backwards.
Aeel.

In places you’ve never heard of, ever.

For example. Vegetárium, in Bp. Mmmm.

A little less than two weeks ago.

Yes, unfortunately. Many times. Unfortunately. I don’t like to talk about it.

7. How many kids do you want?
I don’t, thanks.

8. Type of music you dislike most?
Really don’t know.

Yes.

12. Ever prank call anybody?
Possibly.

13. Ever get a parking ticket?

Atlanta, I think.

16. Do you have a garden?
No, but I have a balcony, and a bunch of barely-alive houseplants.

17. What's your favorite comic strip?
Peanuts. Or Calvin and Hobbes. Or The Moomin, original version – wickedly absurd.

18. Do you really know all the words to your national anthem?
No. I know the two first verses, but after that – and there are about 8 or 10 or 12 altogether, aren’t there? Do I get any points for knowing that there are very many verses? How about for knowing the words to the first verse in two languages? No?

19. Bath or Shower, morning or night?
Shower, morning and/or night.

20. Best movie you've seen in the past month?
Hm. I liked The Impostors, I think (mm… Allison Janney! tall! wig-wearing! grasshopper-drinking! crazy-dancing! who wouldn’t like? who wouldn’t jump up and point and yell?). But, see question 10 – not so often with the movies.

I went to high school. I had issues. So yes. But only about five or six times. I don’t like to talk about it.

Oh, America, America, we do not get SNL here.

47. What was the name of your first pet?
Never had a pet. *sob*
