Tiredness. It's been one of those days when everything connects and connects so much that the order can't possibly be anything but an unconvincing disguise for utter chaos. Know what I mean?

And, you know, when a journalist back when tried to argue that Pynchon and Salinger are the same person, Pynchon (the story goes) sent her a note saying, "not bad - keep trying". Now how about that? I expect this Pynchon course will solve a whole multitude of problems for me. Though, of course, it won't hoover the apartment, so I probably should.

ETA gaah november sneaking up on me again.

EXCEPT. I love Salinger and I hate Pynchon. Clearly, therefore, there is no truth in it.

we shall use you as a literary litmus test! for solving identity crises. (But I rather like both of them, except Salinger wins by relative shortness of novels, as Pynchon's positively un-through-readable.)
