Sep. 15th, 2004 11:53 pmIn keeping with this week's general theme of communicating only in borrowed phrases (are there any other kind?), I'd like to state that it's tearing up my heart when I'm with you, but when we are apart, I feel it too. And no matter what I do, I feel the pain - with or without you.
Anyway, every time I decide on a magazine I can stand to want to read, it immediately stops being available at the bookstores. What is that? What is that? It is messed up, I tell you. Messed up. Except the actual words I'm using are less suitable for family audiences.
Anyway, that bit in Mirror Dance where Mark calls Gregor in the middle of the night - it's there only and just so the Gregor fangirls can take a moment and go "mmm, half-nekkid Gregor", right? Not that I, you know. did. or anything. uncharacteristic hormonal overdrive. I'm, like, one and a half steps away from listing baby names and wedding songs. (Still haven't got my brain quite wrapped around the whole Bujold, though.)
I want the new Quintessence album. I want a lot of things. I want, want, want, all day long.
A billion envelopes stuffed. Just a billion to go.

Date: 2004-09-16 04:06 am (UTC)I think nekkid Gregor would be just fine - but he really should be getting on with nekkid Ivan or something...

right, the pretty. yes yes. i just kind of always automatically assumed that the little, um, vorvolk (? i can't keep my vors straight, har har) i've seen mentioned twice or so was gregor's boyfriend. i mean, obviously...

Date: 2004-09-17 12:38 am (UTC)I don't remember Vorvolk... sounds like a gnome - or a hobbit. Hmmm... hobbits...
Perhaps he was Gregor's 'boy'...? In royalty they don't have boyfriends they have 'boys'.

Date: 2004-09-20 08:44 am (UTC)right. I stand corrected. but upon his (Vorvolk's) turning up again in Mirror Dance, Gregor makes a point of pointing out that the little gnome has a very special room of his own in the dungeons (okay, so I may be paraphrasing a bit), and, well. Now it's canon for me.
like, my canon.
or, we could just pretend I never embarked on this particular path of thinking.
(Did I ever say thanks for that canon-construction article you sent me? Because I enjoyed it loads.)
