I wanted to tell you that the last cd I listened to was Jazzmatazz 1 ("an experimental fusion of hip-hop and jazz") and that my last phone call was to mother ("why am I receiving subscriber gifts from Time? I have not subscribed to Time. I certainly don't think.") and that if you look closely, you can find the exact date of my last kiss on this very livejournal, but that I'd rather not look. But the meme form wouldn't work for me, so I guess you'll never know.

(It feels like someone's put a damper on my mind. But you big baby, you big, somewhat less wonderful, overgrown, pampered baby, as they say: it always feels like that, and it won't stop feeling like that, until you realize that this is it. This is you at the top of your faculties, and there's no point in waiting for your head to clear up, because this is all the clarity you're going to get. Now do your crazy monkey dance, go.)

The last book read? Not much with the sleep last night, so I finished Bujold's The Spirit Ring. (How awful is the title? I mean, really?) The first 40 or so pages left me rather indifferent, but then there was sword-play and blood-letting and plenty of fresh corpses, and what better to catch my attention? indeed. So, there's a sequel out? Yes? No? Is it any good?

Spirit Ring: I liked the fresh-corpse bits, but it's the one Bujold I've never reread. It was her first fantasy and, ahem. The Curse of Chalion and Paladin of Souls are NOT sequels but WAY, WAY better and me, I want new Chalion books by LMB more than I want new Vorkosigan books, which is kinda weird considering how much the V. books used to mean to me. (I got Paladin when you were here last! Remember the SF bookstore?)

You and this weird insistence on my reading books in the correct order. mwah. (But, yes, I remembered that you bought something fantasy by Bujold, and that it wasn't The Spirit Ring, hence my assumption that there must be more fantasy out by Bujold.)
