iceinyourmusicI'm gradually hauling all my cd's over to the flat and re-arranging them in a linguistic-intuitive order, based on morpho-syntactic-semantic classification of the titles. It's almost like art would be if art were a reasonably uninteresting form of obsessive-compulsive procrastinatory behaviour. No scientifically correct terminology is harmed used in the process.
All of this, and my bowl of fresh cherries, give me joy.
Tell me: Some (several) of the recent hate threads have been visited by the good old sentiment that Ur NoT a riter if all you have to show for it is a bunch of 100-word drabbles so i haet U for calling Urself 1, and I'm not saying that it's not as valid a hate as any (of course it's as valid a hate as any), but to what degree is it about
1) the rule that "writer" means "writer of at least two 5000-word stories with a minimum of three plot twists", or whatever the correct figure may be in your particular fandom
2) the fact that pretentious pseudo-artistic wannabes are automatically annoying in their every incarnation
3) the fear that being a Writer won't be Something Special any more if every plebe with a keyboard counts?
Because, yes. I'm horribly inconsistent at best about applying and not-applying the word to myself (though there is sometimes a certain rhyme to the reasons), and when they come to drag me behind the barn to be put down, I'll be the one screaming the battle cry of "but I'm not a writer!" the loudest, whilst firmly crossing my fingers behind my back. If I'm not too busy escaping slyly as a FOX, that is.
