Other substitute movies - The Day After Tomorrow:
* First and foremost - the crazy insane mutant wolves - what was up with that?
* Second, I finally saw the Harry Potter trailer on big screen, and didn't really know whether to laugh or to cry. Did a bit of this, did a bit of that.
* Also a good bunch of trailers for movies which, let's see, no, I don't think I'll be seeing. Hellboy and I, Robot and - what else? I forget.
* So, yeah, I see the epics with the mother and the catastrophe movies with the father, and wear a special hat for both.
TDAT? Not bad for a catastrophe-movie-hat-movie, though still no match for Atomic Train.
* Except that way too few people died. I mean, people we knew. The President also doesn't count.
* Bwahaha.
* But I did think the sick little boy would die! And Sela Ward! It would have been very poignant, see.
* Others have already remarked on this, and more people surely will in the future, but, Dennis Quaid, Dennis, Dennis, Dennis. If I never ever see you act again, it will be only too soon. You big pookie-bear.
* Now, Jake Gyllenhaal, otoh - even though he tends to make me think that he's very very young and little still (even though he isn't, really. that much.).
And the firm yet fond, manly, extremely well-executed son-to-father (yes, yes) embrace he delivered on the Quaid reminded me, despite the extreme son-to-fatherness (yes, yes) of it, about something -
Dear Ang Lee,
Herding sheep? Herding sheep?
WTF? WTFingF?
Love and kisses, Leea.
* Speaking of. JD & Brian - big gay love or not? The signs say love!
* But it's also so very rare that I'm not annoyed by the canon teenie-love pairing in one of these that I have to note that, aww, Laura & Sam. The signs say love again. He went out to the ship for her! In make-shift snow-shoes!
* And the people coming out on the roofs in the end. wwahhh! (I must be really, really very tired.)
* Also? Crazy. insane. mutant. wolves. I want every movie I'll ever see henceforth to have some, OMG.
the end. thanks, goodbye. leave your hat in the lobby please.
