I really want to make a mix cd of real people songs.

(I think it's because of the twenty lyrics meme, which has indirectly caused me to go around singing "Sylvia Plath" and "Piazza, New York Catcher" in my head, as well as you're the hottest motherfucker in all the boybands, lately. But also because it would be cool. If you go by my definition of "cool".)

Can't think of any, though. (Apart from "Candle in the Wind", which I'm not putting on a mix cd. Ditto for "Goodbye England's Rose", or whatever it was called, while we're at it.) But I'm sure there are loads out there.

In completely other news, the way everybody on every front is into Alias these days, it makes me weep a little, it's so overwhelming. And, unrelatedly, I'd like to post a long, bitter post on the subject of spoilers and being spoiled, just this once (usually I'm extremely mellow regarding spoilage), but, really? Nobody cares.

I'm NOT going into Alias. Pwomise. Did you get my email? I still haven't cleaned, so will delight neighbours by doing it after work tonight, around midnight. Also, got your text but was way late so sorry. Also, tomorrow!!!!

It is oddly comforting to know that I'm not all alone out in the cold on this.

Can I be one of the unpopular kids, too? Frankly, I watched about half of the first season of Alias and thought it was awful-- though of course everyone I knew disagreed. (La Femme Nikita did it first. And better.) It's one big cliche chain, that show.

There is that. The first few eps, I got the feeling that it was really supposed to be a particularly poker-faced parody, but that sort of didn't happen, then.

and, see, yet another of the uncool kids. i've only ever seen the very first episode ever and it bored me to tears (though, yes, i will admit to the pretty) and. then i stopped. so, yes, no alias for me, thankyouverymuch. the end.

the more the merrier, no?

(also, love your icon; so very baroque, in a way.)

Don McLean has Vincent (about Mr. Van Gogh); there's Bob Dylan's Hurricane; Tori Amos's Jackie's Strength; R.E.M.'s Man On The Moon. Er. I'm sure there are plenty, but that's what I've got for now. Because I support all mix-CD endeavors.
