walkingshadow points the way towards the funny of The Gospel of Debbie.
Plus: a paperback copy of Oryx and Crake has finally been obtained, and, I don't have the time for this, but, and, what tonight will be about, will be about rereading The Blind Assassin, and then I'll talk about it, yes I really do think. Tomorrow, plane tickets.

Date: 2004-04-01 03:03 pm (UTC)You should read Black Bird by Michel Basilieres, which seems to be making its rounds in the popslash circles of book reccing (Canadians, anyway). I think you'd like it, though, if you enjoy something morbid and hilarious and wonderfully compelling.

Date: 2004-04-02 06:20 am (UTC)and thanks so much for the rec! seeing how "morbid" and "hilarious" and "compelling" are maybe my favourite words in the world, i'll have to give it a read once it becomes available out here in the outest periphery.
