Help me, Swedish-speakers (and/or otherwise clever people) on friendslist! You're my only hope! (... or not, but surely asking the LJ is the logical next step after googling (and before doing any actual work)?) - Spelling things out in Swedish. how do you do it. plis to be explaining. oh plis.

1) vowels: O? Ä?

2) consonants: What's the vowel for K? H? J? Q? R?

I know I should know, but. :-(

Rules: Go to the music player of your choice and put it on shuffle. Say the following questions aloud and press play. Use the song titles and/or one to two lines from the song as your answers.

... and I wish I could tell you from whence it came most recently, but I can't. But I was inappropriately amused by it, and that's all that counts! amongst us monkies. ALSO, MAY CONTAIN HP&tDH SPOILERS. Also, I didn't say any questions out loud, I just thought them very hard.

and if you think you're getting away, i will prove you wrong )

little old lady [in finnish-accented english]: you look like harry potter.
lj user=leksa: *blinks*
little old lady: are you reading harry potter?
lj user=leksa: ... not at the moment?
little old lady: well, you look a little bit like harry potter, so i thought, maybe he is your favourite.
fabric of universe: *is strained*

Saw Kiss Me Deadly at the outdoors summer cinema just now. It was an... interesting experience. Also, weirdly slashy. Also, with all that smoking! And the most fascinating answering machine. Also, everyone kept laughing at the wrong times. Also, yes. There are things about it which are still running around in my head. Also, former primary lyricist for Ultra Bra (current member of parliament) sat next to me.

Also, you can't really be serious about doing a spoiler cut for the ending of a movie from 1955, can you? )

Also, the IMDB plot keyword list for it impresses me with
1. general scope
2. specific inclusion of "slap in the face", "switchboard", and "poodle", in particular.

hi! hello! question! vegetarianism/veganism & pet ownership: how do they mesh?

eta: and, okay! before anyone actually tells me that pets aren't for eating, let me clarify that i'm mostly wondering about the issue of feeding your carnivorous-type pet animal. if it is an issue?

Oh, midsummer!

oh, youtube to sum you up in all the essential ways, midsummer! )

(And a three-day weekend, not quite enough: clear crisp mornings ought to mean roadtrips to nowhere.)

dear diary, today the refugee quota shenanigans of this madhouse country made me want to poke someone* in the eye again.

*e.g. minister of interior? why yes.

dear diary, today i cut my fingers on my kitchen knife at the railway station and bled bright oxygen-red blood all over the place.

... this story would be better if it took place in a french film.

What you do on independence day is: you go home & sit down & watch the President (& her Man) shake people's hands for two hours & you make fun of all their pretty dresses & try to guess whether the Foreign Minister said "oh, hullo there" instead of "Happy Independence Day, Madam President" & who is (not) getting it on with whom. This you must, the rest is take-it-or-leave-it.

I think I'll let my hair grow long now.

Yesterday's entry might have gone so:

a. Full moon with transparent cloudsmoke streaming across. Also note: my proper rain weather boots are awesome dirty brown & knee-high & high-heeled & also out of mother's closet.

b. Right. loud pink quiz result )

c. My chair is really high.

d. I'm not.

1.2. cigarettes
1.3. chickpeas
2. cats & kittens
3. Coming Through Slaughter
4. (Cello OR [Cembalo] OR Clavichord) AND musiC
5. constructing meanings
6. calendars
7. computerized records management
8. canon interrogated from the wrong perspective
9. chance (& the throw of the dice that will never abolish)
10. "cocksucker"

- why is it not Wednesday yet!

I got my letter at [livejournal.com profile] adventurat's, but you can get yours here, if you want.

also, 10 things I (think I) like in fic (sometimes), some of which begin with a C

1. Cleverness. (My copy of The Compleat Copywriter tells me that a copywriter whose copy makes someone say, oh, that's clever, has got it wrong. It also tells me that oral contraceptives for men will be the big thing in the 1970s.)
2. Motifs, patterns, devices. Also parallels, symbols.
3. Ambiguous endings: imperfect happiness & underwhelming angst.
4. A good joke.
5. Words that pound a heavy beat.
6. Understatement. God, I'm such a tool of the Man!
7. Unspoken things, unfinished business, thresholds, waiting, weight, crossings, pushings, cookies, stuff.
8. Canon interrogated from the wrong perspective. Also, the right.
9. Road trips.
10. Things that are not amnesia.

Also, two things that have nothing to do with anything:
1. TWIN PEAKS RE-RUNS IN JANUARY.
2. I forgot the other one.
3. Five bucks says the guy played by the poor man's Giovanni Ribisi did it. In whichever show you're watching right now.
