We were watching all-new eps of BtVS in an empty warehouse in an empty compound something, like one of those places where criminals take kidnapping victims in tv series - big empty room with nothing but a few plastic chairs and a tv set in the middle of it. And Cordelia was back. And Angel, and definitely Faith. We watched several eps in a row (or maybe simultaneously), and in one, at least, the monsters of the week were children, oodles of children just about so high as to come up to your waist, and they swarmed the same compound in which we were watching the show, though, naturally, on the show, and turned yellow when they put their evil power on, and it turned out they were all blind, and then Faith had to kill some. Angel wore a ladies' shirt in black and snapped a rose off its stem and gave it to Buffy; all in all, we noticed, the characterizations were all on over-drive, on a relentless push, on too much though not a real parody, and metaphors were turning literal left and right. It's like they're stretched out too thin, like the tension's too high, like it's all about to snap, I told the others. The others agreed with me. We thought it was quite brilliant.
