May. 26th, 2006 04:22 pmSpeaking of Life of Pi (please note how I've actually checked the title this time around), I'd be v. curious to know how people who've read it felt about the ending. I can't figure out why I found it so disappointing and out of place (as I did like, if not exactly adore, the book in general) - the idea I was fine with, but there's something about the execution of the last sections that just, eh. Thin? Clunky? Under-estimating the reader's intelligence? That half-assed wrap-up after the writer has already lost interest thing? - I feel like I must have missed some crucial point of it, of why it had to be what it was.
O my poor Deadwood icon, she never really even had a fighting chance to not get demoted into generic reading marker. No, not none never.
