The LJ speaks Finnish to me, today, unasked. It does it just to mess with my mind.

I wanted to talk about canon, for my own peace of mind, or domestic polytix without a back-story, or maybe exist out of time and space, but. Last night, I tried to face and have it all out with some realities, and when truth comes to kick, May will again be the month when I shouldn't spend my time on indulgences like sleeping, eating, and playing fun games on the internet, if I mean to make it through with certain things done. Or somethings done. (Why did I say yes to the mailing job? I know why I said yes, yes was because I couldn't afford to say no, not for the money but for the fact that as soon as I start saying no, they will stop asking. But how to squeeze it all in, I don't know, I really don't. And: as a further complaint: I'm not organized enough for this: studying and working on a project w/o fixed hours, in that everything is something you cd 'n shd do all day long 7 days a week. eff. such a tangle.)

Here, I leave you [goodbye, now] with Selma Lagerlöf on fanfiction in 1902, my [inexcusable] translation from Hirvensalo&Malmila's translation into Finnish from 1952, and without a story title as I don't know what it might be:

The young girl didn't initially understand that she should write about the stories and plots that surrounded her. It didn't occur to her at all that she might create a book out of those familiar adventures, about which she had heard so much that they seemed like the world's most everyday things to her. She chose the subjects for her attempts at writing from her books, and briskly put together stories about the sultans of 1001 Nights, Walter Scott's knights, and Snorre Sturlanson's fairytale kings.

It is hardly necessary to tell you that her scribblings were as immature and unauthentic as anything, even though this was something she herself didn't know.
