How you children have been talking! My cousin came to town on Friday, we went to the theatre, we went shopping, we did family things, so I didn't get a chance to touch a computer (or a cigarette, as an equally important thing to consider) for two days, and now I'm at work, and there's entry after entry after entry on the friendspage, but I don't have the time to start really reading them all. Such is my life.

It's been insanely foggy for days now, we'll start getting lost here for sure. In other news, one of my first teachers at the uni did that academic thing where you, uh, defend your dissertation? watch my vocabulary die! on Friday, so we all attended. People from the department had dressed up as undertakers, and looked approximately as cheerful as that, with the exception of the head of the department, whose funky skirt came up just as close to the knee as was allowed; the charming researcher from downstairs who brings to mind the homicidal village idiot (on a good day) wore his leather pants; another one had dug up a sweater with a diagonal rainbow pattern. Teacher was nervous; the Other Person articulated as if giving a sermon. It was all very exciting. I forgot to bring flowers, much to my shame.

Last night, I dreamt that I was participating in a Survivor/Real World hybrid in Australia, the night before that, that I had a pet snake called Pana, and a pet rabbit called Sonic, and as Pana had gotten too big for the plastic tube he lived in, I had to let him out, and as a thank-you he turned into a dragon and bit me in the ankle.
