You know how, some days, you're all aflutter all day, fingertips twitching, just waiting waiting to go home and write? And then, nothing. Home, and you have absolutely nothing to say.
But, as far as clones go, mother's colleague has a daughter who's the same as me in every respect, only four years younger and a little bit better at everything. And I think I like her, this half-imaginary girl, because her opinions and doings are all mine, and, you know, maybe we should hook up, live happily forever after? but if we ever did, I'd combust (at sight) into a pile of dust, because: she's the real me. I'm the beta product. (Go test our genes.)
And then I have these army-style winter boots that lace up like figure skates and have steel toes, and they don't make me very peaceful, so I wonder: if this is how the big fights start. Someone gets new boots and then it's suddenly all, yeah, you wanna mess with me? you wanna mess with my posse? check out my shoes, you wanna start something? huh? huh?
